Currently, more and more Chinese companies are choosing to enter the German market through greenfield investments, particularly in the battery, AI, and automotive sectors. Due to professional experience, brand recognition, and the need to overcome language barriers, Chinese employers often wish to send their employees from their home country to Germany for long-term assignments. However, these plans cannot always be implemented without difficulty, and meeting the requirements for employee secondment, in particular, is not without its challenges. Application procedures and dealings with government agencies often pose problems for Chinese companies seeking to second employees and create significant obstacles. In the following presentations, legal issues surrounding the secondment of employees will be analyzed in depth for companies using concrete case studies, and practical recommendations for Chinese investors will be provided.
1. Assignment Options—Residence Permits for Specialized and Executive Personnel in Germany: ICT Card, EU Blue Card, and Expert Visas under the FEG
